Get Dad hacking for Father’s Day

Father’s day is always a tough nut to crack when it comes to getting the right gift. You have generic and uninspired staples (World’s Best Dad mugs, a tie, socks etc.), but you want to do something more unique and thoughtful. Dads are pretty good at getting themselves the stuff they want, so what do you get for the guy that has it all? How about a hacking project?

This year for Father’s Day, Macetech is lowering the price on RGB Shades DIY kits to the lowest price ever: $99. We’re hoping this will be the perfect way to scratch Dad’s tinkering itch and when he learns to update the messages on the shades to match his sense of humor, they’re sure to be a hit at the next family gathering.

The sale will also apply discounts to the assembled versions of the Shades and the Shades Audio Sensor is on sale as well. The sale will end on June 21, but US orders should be made before June 15 to make sure they arrive in time for the big day.
